Running a dental clinic

Reception books the appointment, the dentist changes the treatment plan in the room, and the patient leaves without knowing the next step. The recall depends on a note, not on a date on the chart.

Who it is for

For a clinic with reception, several dentists, and treatment plans longer than one visit. A poor fit for a solo dentist with no front desk and no multi-step plan.

Problems this page addresses

  • The appointment and the plan disagree

Reception sees "filling". The dentist already moved to the next step in the room. The patient returns for a visit that does not match what was approved.

  • Nobody owns the recall

A checkup in six months is said out loud. Nobody calls, because it is not a booked appointment and not a task for reception.

  • Payment approval sits apart from treatment

The plan was approved in conversation, the payment was written at the desk, and the dentist cannot see whether the expensive step was accepted before starting.

What you get

  • A treatment plan on the patient chart

Steps, what was done, and what remains. Reception books the open step, not a treatment that already finished.

  • An appointment with a reason

The dentist sees why the patient is here before they walk in. Reception sees whether the visit needs a room, an image, or only a checkup.

  • A recall date

At the end of a visit the next date is set, or reception gets a task to call. It does not stay in a spoken summary.

Common questions

We have an appointment book. Why another system?

An appointment book is enough when every visit stands alone. It is not enough when a plan has several steps, and reception and the dentist need the same status before the next visit is booked.

Who sees price and who sees clinical detail?

Reception sees the appointment, the open step, and payment status. The dentist sees the plan. Not everyone sees everything, and the clinical chart is not handed to the front desk.

Are patient forms in Hebrew?

Yes. A plan approval and an appointment reminder are written in Hebrew, in the wording reception already uses on the phone.
